An illustrator and comic book artist based in Seoul, Sungmin has most recently published two graphic novels infused with futuristic dystopian themes.
Though working from home is nothing new to Sungmin, she has felt a notable shift in her consciousness, with the global crisis prompting her to reflect more about how we humans are affecting the ecology.
I am imagining and thinking
about the future more than
ever before, and these ideas
are influencing what I say
through my stories.
These unique times have not only shaped Sungmin’s science fiction works, they have also fired her up to cook more frequently.
While she did not jump on the banana bread bandwagon, she enjoys improvising pasta recipes by combining whatever’s available in the fridge. Yes, she may be Korean, but the Italian dish is her usual go-to recipe.
